Elecrow CrowPanel ESP32-S3 HMI 7.0" specifications
The CrowPanel ESP32-S3 HMI 7.0-inch (Elecrow model DIS08070H) is the largest CrowPanel: a 7-inch 800×480 TFT driven over RGB, capacitive GT911 touch, and the same ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N4R8 module (4 MB flash, 8 MB octal PSRAM) as the 5-inch model.
Because the resolution is the same as on the 5-inch board, the pixels are simply larger. That makes the 7-inch version the better pick when the panel is read from a distance — on a wall, a machine or a workbench — while a 5-inch design can be moved over without re-layouting.
Elecrow equips it like the rest of the family: USB-C with 5 V / 2 A input, a lithium battery connector with charging circuit, an amplified I2S speaker output, a microSD slot and HY2.0-4P ports. The display uses Elecrow's EK9716BD3 and EK73002ACGB driver ICs.

Free GPIOs and connectors
These GPIOs are not used by the display, touch or on-board peripherals, so you can wire your own sensors, buttons or relays to them.
| Pin | Capabilities | Note |
|---|---|---|
| GPIO 38 | GPIO, PWM | On the GPIO_D port (HY2.0-4P) — the only free GPIO of the board |
| GPIO 43/TX | GPIO, UART_TX | UART0 TX — on the UART0 port (HY2.0-4P), shared with the USB-C serial port (CH340) |
| GPIO 44/RX | GPIO, UART_RX | UART0 RX — on the UART0 port (HY2.0-4P), shared with the USB-C serial port (CH340) |
- GPIO_D port — GPIO 38
- UART0 port — GPIO 43, 44 (TX, RX)
Shared with the USB-C serial port — the serial monitor and uploads use it too
- I2C port — GPIO 19, 20 (SDA, SCL)
Same I2C bus as the GT911 touch (0x14 / 0x5D) and, on V3.0 boards, the PCA9557 touch-reset expander (0x18)
Good to know before you start
- It is a TN panel, so colours shift when viewed from a steep angle — mount it roughly at eye level.
- GPIO 38 on the GPIO_D port is the only free GPIO; add more inputs and outputs through I2C (GPIO 19/20).
- The I2C bus is shared with the GT911 touch controller and, on V3.0 boards, the PCA9557 expander at 0x18 that controls touch timing.
- Anything designed for the CrowPanel 5.0-inch runs on the 7.0-inch unchanged, because both are 800×480.
What it is good for
- •Wall-mounted smart home control centres
- •Machine and workshop panels read from a distance
- •Large clocks, weather stations and status boards
- •Kiosk-style information displays

Frequently asked questions
What is the resolution of the CrowPanel 7-inch?
800×480 — the same as the 5-inch CrowPanel, on a physically larger TN panel.
Is the CrowPanel 7.0-inch an IPS display?
No. Elecrow lists it as a TN panel, which has narrower viewing angles than IPS.
Can I reuse a 5-inch CrowPanel project on the 7-inch?
Yes. Both use an 800×480 RGB display, a GT911 touch controller and the N4R8 module, so the same LVGL layout fits.
Which free pins does the 7-inch CrowPanel have?
GPIO 38 on the GPIO_D port, the UART0 pins (GPIO 43/44, shared with USB-C) and the I2C bus on GPIO 19/20, which is shared with the touch controller.
