Waveshare ESP32-S3 Touch LCD 1.47" specifications
The ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-1.47 brings capacitive touch to Waveshare's slim 1.47-inch format. Its 172×320 IPS panel is notably bright for its class — about 530 cd/m² according to Waveshare — and touch input comes from an AXS5106L controller on I2C.
An ESP32-S3R8 with 8 MB of PSRAM and 16 MB of flash runs the board, and a microSD slot adds storage for images or logs. Power, serial and firmware upload all go through one USB-C port, and the battery voltage can be measured over the ADC for portable builds.
The narrow portrait screen is well suited to scrolling lists and single-value readouts, and the touch layer makes it a compact controller rather than just a display. LCD Ultra Pro supports it in portrait and landscape, with a display and touch driver matched to Waveshare's example code in the Arduino export.

Good to know before you start
- Waveshare's spec table names a JD9853 display controller while its demo code uses an ST7789-compatible driver; LCD Ultra Pro's driver follows the manufacturer's example code.
- Free pins: GPIO 1–8, plus GPIO 0 (BOOT) and UART0.
- Rotation to 90° is supported for a 320×172 landscape layout.
- Use FAT32 cards of 32 GB or less in the microSD slot.
What it is good for
- •Compact touch controllers and remotes
- •Scrolling menus and lists
- •Bright indoor status panels
- •Small sensor dashboards
