Makerfabs MaTouch ESP32-S3 Parallel TFT 4.3" specifications
Makerfabs' MaTouch ESP32-S3 Parallel TFT with Touch 4.3-inch (SKU E32S3RGB43) packs a high-resolution 800×480 IPS panel into the 4.3-inch size — a noticeably sharper picture than the 480×272 that many 4.3-inch ESP32 boards use. The display runs over a 16-bit RGB interface, and touch is handled by a 5-point capacitive GT911.
Under the screen sits an ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8 with 16 MB of flash and 8 MB of PSRAM, so full-screen double buffering and image-heavy interfaces are no problem. The board has two USB-C ports — one through a CP2104 USB-to-UART bridge and one native USB — plus a microSD slot and Mabee (Grove-compatible) I2C and GPIO connectors.
This is one of the boards we run LCD Ultra Pro on ourselves: its driver is verified on real hardware and it supports USB Live, so your design appears on the panel while you edit.

Free GPIOs and connectors
These GPIOs are not used by the display, touch or on-board peripherals, so you can wire your own sensors, buttons or relays to them.
| Pin | Capabilities | Note |
|---|---|---|
| GPIO 0 | GPIO, BOOT | Boot button / IO0 |
| GPIO 2 | GPIO, ADC | Not on a connector. V1.3: backlight; V2.0: I2S speaker (LRCLK) |
| GPIO 10 | GPIO, ADC, PWM | Not on a connector (probably the microSD CS). Free on V2.0 hardware; V1.3 hardware uses GPIO 2 for the backlight |
| GPIO 11 | GPIO, PWM | microSD slot MOSI (SPI2) — not on a connector |
| GPIO 12 | GPIO, PWM | microSD slot SCK (SPI2) — not on a connector |
| GPIO 13 | GPIO, PWM | microSD slot MISO (SPI2) — not on a connector |
| GPIO 19 | GPIO, USB_DM | USB D- — on the Mabee GPIO connector; V2.0: also the I2S speaker amplifier (DIN) |
| GPIO 20 | GPIO, USB_DP | USB D+ — on the Mabee GPIO connector; V2.0: also the I2S speaker amplifier (BCLK) |
| GPIO 43/TX | GPIO, UART_TX | UART0 TX |
| GPIO 44/RX | GPIO, UART_RX | UART0 RX |
- Mabee I2C — GPIO 17, 18 (SDA, SCL)
Same I2C bus as the touch controller (GT911)
- Mabee GPIO — GPIO 19, 20 (IO19 / D-, IO20 / D+)
Using these pins turns off the native USB port (upload through the USB-to-UART port); V2.0: the speaker may click
Good to know before you start
- There are two hardware versions. V2.0 (current production) adds an I2S speaker; the older V1.3 drives the backlight from GPIO 2. Check the label on the back — the LCD Ultra Pro driver targets V2.0 and needs one line uncommented for V1.3.
- The Mabee GPIO connector carries GPIO 19/20, which are also the native USB data lines. Using them as GPIOs disables the native USB port, so upload through the CP2104 port instead.
- The Mabee I2C connector shares its bus with the GT911 touch controller.
- LCD Ultra Pro dims this board's screen with a software layer rather than a hardware backlight control.
What it is good for
- •Sharp, detailed dashboards in a compact 4.3-inch size
- •Image-rich interfaces that need PSRAM
- •Portrait-format panels (90° rotation supported)
- •Fast UI iteration with USB Live

Frequently asked questions
What resolution is the MaTouch ESP32-S3 Parallel TFT 4.3-inch?
800×480 on a 4.3-inch IPS panel, driven over a 16-bit RGB parallel interface.
Why does the board have two USB-C ports?
One goes through a CP2104 USB-to-UART bridge for uploads and the serial monitor, the other is the ESP32-S3's native USB port.
How can I tell V1.3 from V2.0?
The version is printed on the back of the board. V2.0 adds an I2S speaker amplifier; V1.3 controls the backlight from GPIO 2.
Can it be used in portrait orientation?
Yes. LCD Ultra Pro supports 0° and 90° on this board, and USB Live works in both.
